The Brazen Head is Ireland’s oldest pub and inn and is situated in the heart of the city. On offer is the true Irish experience of excellent Irish food, live Irish music and of course the traditional pint of Guinness. All other established beers, wines and spirits are available also. The Brazen Head offers a wide variety of traditional and contemporary Irish food, including the award winning Beef and Guinness stew and traditional Irish stew. For fish lovers a wide variety of Irish fish is available including smoked salmon, mussels and cod in beer batter. Food is available in all three bars and in the Courtyard Restaurant in the evening times.
Irish Music Sessions
The Brazen Head is a hive of activity with daily Irish music sessions to provide a real Irish experience. Sunday afternoon sessions are renowned in the country. Every night there is traditional sessions with well known ballads with weekend regulars The Rye River Band and The Brazen Hussies. Truly one of the city’s best live music venues.

Master the art of pulling the perfect pint of Guinness at the Brazen Head. You will receive expert tuition from the highly skilled bar staff, a commemorative t-shirt of the occasion, a certificate stating the event and of course the pint of Guinness you pulled!
The Brazen Head public house retains the charm and a characteristic of it’s past and in particular it's patrons, who have included such literaries as James Joyce, Brendan Behan and Jonathan Swift. This bar was attended by well known revolutionaries such as Robert Emmet, Wolfe Tone, Daniel O'Connell and Michael Collins. It was mentioned in James Joyce’s Ulysses saying “You get a decent enough do in the Brazen Head”. Today the patrons still include some famous faces, including some very famous musicians like Van Morrison, Hothouse Flowers, Mary Black and Garth Brooks.
